Jamie Greer, Lead Vocals (1991 - 1994)
One of the co-founders of the band, Jamie had been singing with Cameron Dempsey's industrial project C.I.D. prior to
the formation of Purple Jesus. He had previously been a member of several "bands" that included Jeff Kraneyk, Ian Blythin
and John Matthews - KAOS, Saigon Rose, Sensual Toys - none of which even made it to the jam stage. Jamie wrote all the lyrics
for Purple Jesus' songs, working alongside chief songwriters Jeff Kraneyk, Cameron Dempsey and Jeff Rosiana. He also worked
with Rosiana and Dempsey in the industrial side project Who Killed The Cat? during his time with Purple Jesus. Following the
demise of Purple Jesus, Greer and Dempsey would once again reunite as the experimental acoustic act The Lollipop Guild in
Windsor, Ontario. This lasted a few months before Greer joined the glam-punk band TOAST. TOAST broke up in 1998 and in 2000
he formed the Trailer Park Sex Cowboys. The Cowboys lasted another 2 years before the dissolving in 2002. From 2002 until
late 2004, he toiled in the alt. country/folk band The Hung Jury.

Darren Ward, Drums (1992 - 1994)
When John Matthews was replaced, no other option seemed realistic except for Darren Ward. Darren had a reputation as
one of the area's strongest drummers and he was still so young! He had years of experience playing all forms of music. He
had just parted ways with his Van Halen tribute band, Fair Warning, when the boys in Purple Jesus asked him to sit behind
the kit for a special one off show. That one off show turned into a two year ride. Following the demise of Purple Jesus, Darren
would go on to form SLAB with Jeff Rosiana, Andrew Lauzon and Drew Hallenbeck. Following a successful indie run with SLAB,
Darren retired from the music scene in 1998. It wouldn't be until 2003 that he would return to the music world, taking up
the sticks in the Niagara Falls area band Vegalite.

Jeff Jones, Bass (1992 - 1994)
Jonesy had been a mutual friend of most of the guys in the band prior to joining. He had played in several local metal
bands and was looking for a new gig when Cameron left Purple Jesus for school. No one else was really considered nor auditioned
and Jonesy was soon brought on board as Cameron's replacement. It was shortly after he joined that they decided to change
their musical direction, from a Spinal Tap-esque humourous rock and roll band to a serious alternative rock act. He didn't
join the band on their 10-month sabbatical to Halifax (where they went under the name Her Idiot Sister) but upon their return
to Niagara Falls (and short lived name change to Horrorshow) he rejoined them until their demise a few weeks later. His current
whereabouts are unknown.
John Matthews, Drums (1992)
When the boys decided to add live drums for the recording of their second block of songs, they turned to John Matthews.
John was a long time friend of the guys in the band and had experience playing with Ian and Kraneyk in the classic rock band
Moulton Station. He played with Purple Jesus for a few short months before being replaced by Darren Ward. Matthews almost
made a return to the band in late summer of 1992 when tensions between Darren Ward and the rest of the band ensued, even
jamming and recording on several new songs, but ultimately the promblems were worked out and Ward remained an integral part
of Purple Jesus. He has since left the music business.

Purple Jesus reunion in 1997
This photo was the closest the band ever got to reuniting following their break-up in 1994. When the band dissolved,
tensions amongst it's members where high. They barely spoke to each other for months, for some it was years. One night in
1997, when Jamie returned to Niagara Falls to visit from Windsor, he called up Kraneyk, Darren and Rosiana and they went out
for a few drinks to patch up old wounds and think back on the good times they all had as Purple Jesus. The legend will never
die to those who remember those days...

Jeff Kraneyk, Rhythm & Lead Guitar (1992 - 1994), Bass (1991)
Co-founder of the band with Jamie, Ian and Cameron. Kraneyk and Greer were childhood friends since Grade 1 and had always
shared one common dream: "To rock the world." They had several "bands" in high school that never actually even practiced (nor
played live) - KAOS, Saigon Rose, Sensual Toys, Waddafuk. When Greer took a 2 year sabbatical to Cayuga, Jeff and Ian did
go on to play in the classic rock band Moulton Station, along with John Matthews, Chris Grimo and Troy McIlravey. Moulton
Station broke up shortly after Purple Jesus' inception. Kraneyk, along with Cameron, was one of the band's principle song
writers in the early days, a duty he would later share with Jeff Rosiana. Following Purple Jesus' break up in 1994, Jeff Kraneyk
retired from the music business.

Jeff Rosiana, Lead Guitar (1992 - 1994)
When Ian Blythin was replaced as the band's lead guitarist, the boys in the band went straight to Jeff Rosiana. Though
he was only 17 years old, he was by far the best shredder they had seen. At the time, Jeff was the young phenom in the aggressive
Niagara Falls metal band Sedarious, a band the rest of the guys had seen play a few times. When they needed a replacement
for Ian, they asked Jeff Rosiana to fill in for one show. He stayed for 2 years. Rosiana also worked with Jamie and Cameron
on the industrial side project Who Killed The Cat? during his tenure in Purple Jesus. Following the demise of Purple Jesus,
Jeff and Darren worked together in SLAB. He also did an experimental solo project in 2000 under the name Logic Killed The
Human. He has since traded his guitars for the synthesizer and now plays in the Toronto-based alternative band Reason Disappears.

Cameron Dempsey, Bass (1992), Keyboards (1991 - 1992)
Cameron was one of the band's co-founders. He and Greer were originally working together in an industrial project called
C.I.D. (Canadian Industrial Demos) until Purple Jesus reared it's ugly head. Until they recruited John Matthews to play drums,
Cameron did all the percussion through his keyboard's drum machine. He also supplied synth rhythms to the early recordings.
When Matthews joined on as original drummer, it allowed Jeff Kraneyk to move from bass to his original instrument, guitar,
and Cam to switch to the bass. Cameron played bass for the band until August if 1992, at which time he left the band to pursue
University life in Windsor, Ontario. He routinely returned to the area to work with Greer and Rosiana in the industrial side
project Who Killed The Cat? and when Greer re-located to Windsor in the summer of 1994, the two reunited in the experimental
acoustic act The Lollipop Guild. Following the demise of The Lollipop Guild in 1995, Cameron retired from the music business.

Ian Blythin, Lead Guitar (1991 - 1992)
Ian was one of the co-founders of the band alongside Jamie, Jeff Kraneyk and Cameron. He took part in both early recording
sessions, bringing his unique styling of bluesy metal guitar playing to the band. Prior to Purple Jesus, Ian was the lead
guitarist to Kraneyk's rhythm in the classic rock band Moulton Station. Following his early departure from Purple Jesus, he
briefly worked with Jim "Duke" O'Brien, former guitarist in the Van Halen tribute act Fair Warning (which drummer Darren Ward
also performed with). He has since retired from the music business.
