For the first time EVER, here are some classic 1992 MP3's from Purple Jesus! Just CLICK on the song
title to listen!
Torpedo of Love
A classic, this was a definite crowd favourite when we used to pull this out (no pun intended). Partly
inspired from the line in Spinal Tap's classic Big Bottom ("I'm gonna sink you with my pink torpedo"), it
was raunchy and fun to sing along to. This track was taken from a live recording from August 30, 1992, Cameron's final show
with the band. And one of the last shows done in the comedic Spinal Tap vein. Torpedo of Love was written
by Jamie Greer and Jeff Kraneyk.
(I Bet Your Sex Is) Amazing
This was probably one of the most popular songs we ever did live. When we decided to get "serious"
in September of 1992, this was the only song from the initial comedic set-list to make the transfer (although it was lyrically
re-written to become "Million Miles Under"). We always got a good mosh pit from this one. This is taken from a live recording
from July of 1992. (I Bet Your Sex Is) Amazing was the first song we wrote together as a full band - Cameron
Dempsey, Jamie Greer, Jeff Kraneyk, Jeff Rosiana and Darren Ward.
Say Hello To Willy
This was originally written for a film project we'd planned on doing - a sequel to our indie comedy
film They Are Purple Jesus. We wrote and recorded it for the soundtrack for a film we never finished. When
we transferred into a live band, this was one of the first songs we ever played. This version was taken from the August 30,
1992 show at Uncle Sam's, the last one with Cameron. Say Hello To Willy was written by Jamie Greer and Jeff
Kraneyk.
